Humanity in Music is a Toronto-based non-profit organization that brings people together through music in support of charitable and non-profit causes.
We collaborate with musicians, creatives, and community partners to develop meaningful programs and benefit concerts that raise funds, increase awareness, and foster unity, empathy, and connection through live music. At the core of everything we do is a belief in community, generosity, and the power of music to inspire positive change.
Humanity in Music was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when live entertainment came to a halt and both musicians and music lovers felt the loss deeply. As artists, we were eager to respond to a growing need, one that was amplified by isolation and the reduced capacity of charitable organizations to reach the people who depend on them. What began as a response to an unprecedented moment has grown into an ongoing commitment to service through music.
Our founder and organizer, Jasmin Uglow, was inspired by her personal experience as a primary caregiver and the vital support she received from the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. Witnessing firsthand the impact of community-based care motivated her to create Humanity in Music as a way to give back, not only in gratitude for the help she received, but in solidarity with the many Canadians who rely on non-profits and charities every day.

As Humanity in Music continues to grow, so do our projects, partnerships, and the people we serve. We are always seeking new alliances and creative collaborations that allow us to expand our impact and better support the organizations and communities we work with. Our hope is not only to give, but also to inspire others to get involved and use their talents in service of meaningful causes.

WHAT'S NEXT?
We are excited to be returning this year with renewed energy and a strong focus on meaningful collaborations. Our goal is to host as many fundraising events as possible, building momentum and making up for lost time while expanding our impact.
Throughout the year, we will be reaching out to select organizations and community partners as we plan and develop our upcoming initiatives. Details about events and collaborations scheduled for 2026 will be shared as they are confirmed.
